After a long time, I’m back with my blogs.
Last weekend we were in Berlin to promote the “Ratmate School Project” among the fellow Germans.
It was a good presentation and we got good vibes.

Jeewanpur 4

Sahayog Posted on Mon, July 04, 2016 04:57:16

On 1st of July, we (Ripu, Rajaram, Baikuntha and me) went to Jeewanpur early in the morning. We had a meeing on that day with the local villagers at 10 am.
It rained heavily on that day. Monsoon has started in Nepal. We could see the effect of monsoon so easily. Almost 5 weeks before, when we went to this small village, we had a feeling that this place is so dry and now since the beginning of monsoon, this place looks like a paradise.
The meeting went quite well. We also showed the villagers different fotos regarding the graphics of how the water tank would be built. Our engineer had also prepared a small 3D-animation. I thought at first, that this was not needed at all, but then later agreed to present it to the villagers, since it would motivate them.
Since this is high time that the villagers work in their fields, we’ve agreed to start the work after a month, when the monsoon would be almost over.

Ms. Kajol Suwal

Sahayog Posted on Sun, June 26, 2016 08:25:43

Yesterday we had a meeting of our organisation “Sahayog” in Bhaktapur. We decided to support the girl, Ms. Kajol Suwal for her further studies, first in Grade 11 and 12.
She had lost her father, mother and a sister to the earthquake last year and now lives with her only brother, who’s a carpenter in Byasi, Bhaktapur.
During the conversation, we decided to try for the entrance exam in the army school here in Bhaktapur. I immediately said yes. I had gone to the army school, it’s one of the reputed school in the country, it’s cheaper for the quality of the education it gives and it’s near to Kajol’s home.
But when we went to the school yesterday, the date of submission of the application form was yesterday. We met one of my former teacher and he suggested us to come tomorrow and meet the head of the army officer, Lt. Col. Mr Jeewan Thapa sir, as he looked after the administration at the school.
Luckily Col. sir was my house master, when I was in class 8 and 9. He still remembered me and our application for Ms. Kajol Suwal was accepted.
I hope she passes the entrance exam tomorrow. I wish her all the best.

Jeewanpur 3

Sahayog Posted on Fri, June 24, 2016 08:41:13

We visited Mr. Khatiwada and his family in Jeewanpur, Dhading yesterday. Jeewanpur is the small village, where we plan to build the drinking water reservoir. We were there 10 days before for the first time and have finished the preparations from our side so far. The purpose of this visit was to see how far the development from their side has come.
We want the villagers to take an active part in this project. We want to provide the materials, the technical “Know-How” and the villagers should provide the necessary manpower.
Mr. Khatiwada and his son are very positive regarding the project. There’s a villager’s meeting today and they will officially put forward the proposal. Next friday, at the villager’s next meeting, we will be there to present the proposal ourselves before the villagers.
We enjoyed the ride with the local bus from Kathmandu till Tayal-Ghar. It took us almost an hour and a nice joyful ride. After that we had a nice trek for almost 2 hours. We enjoyed the nice sunny morning.
This village was destroyed by the earthquake. All the houses were ruined down. The villagers have built temporary houses with what they could.
I had a small talk with Mr. Khatiwada’s daughter-in-law about the earthquake last year. I was trying to see the better side of it. But then I realized that this nice lady had tears in her eyes. I could sense and feel that this lady must have gone through immense pain as thousands of others. I didn’t dare to ask more at that very moment.
I’m very much looking forward to the visit to the village next friday.

Jeewanpur 2

Sahayog Posted on Wed, June 22, 2016 05:14:40

The report of the water project has been submitted by our engineer. We would be visiting the village tomorrow to see if the villagers have got a written consent for the project.
We, from Sahayog, want to be on the safe side and want a written consent that the villagers allow us to build the water tank.
We’re very much looking forward to start the work soon.

Sahayog Posted on Mon, June 20, 2016 12:04:05

We met today at Basantapur, Kathmandu to discuss certain points regarding the role of “Sahayog” in the nearby future.

2. The report of the survey of “Jeewanpur Water Project” conducted last Saturday has been prepared. We talked about the procedere of implementing the project with our oversears Mr. Pradeep Thapa. We would hopefully be able to start the project in 2 weeks.

Construction idea

Ratmate School Project Posted on Sun, June 19, 2016 10:24:19

The construction company “Abari”, who would co-operate with us in building the school in Ratmate, Dhading, would be providing us with the “Know-How” and the techniques to build the school with the “CEB’s-Compressed Earth Bricks”.
www.abari.org
Later on, when the school is built, the techniques and the “Know-How” would pass on to the villagers as they would be taught from the very first day.
Also, a committee would be formed in the village itself. This would take care of the machines, that we will hand over to the villagers, once the construction is completed.

Ratmate School Project Posted on Sun, June 19, 2016 10:19:24

We had a gathering of “Sahayog Sansthan- Help organisation” yesterday evening at Bhaktapur to communicate together with our partner organisation Seeds e.V. in Germany. (www.seedsev.de)
Seeds would also be contributing in building the school in Ratmate, Dhading. They had organised a charity dinner programme in Gomaringen, Germany to collect money. This would go in building the school.
I’d like to thank you all once again for helping us for a cause, that would surely change the lives of small children.

The red cross society of Bhaktapur has also given a vote of thanks and has also pleaded for such helps in the future.
I’d like to say a vote of thanks to each and every participation in that program in April. With the help of each and everyone, we were able to conduct the successful program.

Jeewanpur Water Project

Sahayog Posted on Tue, June 14, 2016 07:10:57

On June 11th 2016, a team of Sahayog, went to Jeewanpur, a small village in Dhading district to conduct a survey for the new project of building a drinking water reservoir.
Jeewanpur lies almost 30km north-east from Kathmandu. Although this small village lies very near to the capital, there are a lot of village houses that are deprived of fresh drinking water.
Also, the April earthquake of last year has destroyed almost all the houses in this small village. We went to visit the house of Mr. Khatiwada. Mr. Carl-Heinz, a German friend of ours, had visited Mr. Khatiwada in March and had known of his poor condition. Upon his request, we planned to perform a survey and see the conditions of the village.
We combined this survey with a cycling tour last saturday. We started from Thamel, Kathmandu and were 6 of us including an engineer, Mr. Baikuntha. Well, the cycling route was a really harsh one and we almost did 6 hours of cycling to reach the small village.
The village itself is very dry. The old water source has been destructed by the last earthquake. But luckily there’s a new water source, which has also brought a new hope to the villagers.
When we finish this project, we will be able to supply more than 30 houses with fresh drinking water.
The engineer would take almost 2 weeks to complete his report. We hope to start the construction as soon as possible.

Survey and soil test payment

Ratmate School Project Posted on Tue, June 14, 2016 06:54:52

We have paid a sum of Nrs. 40.000 to the construction company “Abari” for conducting the survey and soil test for the school project in Ratmate, Dhading.
Ripu and I, were present yesterday to hand over the cheque at the office of “Abari”. The results of the survey and tests would be handed over to us in some days.

Bank account

Ratmate School Project Posted on Tue, June 14, 2016 06:50:52

After a long discussion with our bank, we have been able to open a sub account called as the “Nirman Project” for the rebuilding program of the primary school in Dhading. All the financial transections regarding the “School Project” will be done via this new sub account of the citizens bank, Bhaktapur branch.
Also, this sub account will be managed together by our president- Mr. Rajaram Suwal and Mr. Ripu Mardan Adhikari, who is the key to this project as the school would be built in his home village. He would act as a local co-ordinator too.

Ripu

Sahayog Posted on Tue, June 14, 2016 06:45:56

Ripu Mardan Adhikari has been the important key for the “Nirman Project”- the rebuilding project of “Shree Ratmate Prathamik Vidhyalaya”, the primary school in Dhading and a very helpful friend too.
We have granted a general membership of our “Help Organisation” to Ripu last week, so that we can work much more better hand in hand to rebuild this school.
